Newcastle is located in the state of New South Wales, which is the most populous state in Australia and home to Sydney, the country's largest city. It's an ideal location for study abroad students, offering a safe and welcoming environment, with easy access to some of Australia's most beautiful natural attractions and top-notch universities. ## Overview

Newcastle is a port city on Australia's east coast, about 160 kilometers (100 miles) north of Sydney. With a population of around 300,000 people, it's the second largest city in New South Wales and the sixth largest in Australia. It's known for its beautiful beaches, world-class surfing, and rich cultural heritage, and is often described as a "hidden gem" of Australia. Newcastle is a thriving hub for the arts, education, and tourism, and offers a unique blend of urban sophistication and laid-back coastal lifestyle.
